About the Event
Order of the Raider is a formal recognition event dedicated to honoring Airmen whose contributions have directly enabled contingency response operations. It highlights operational impact, reinforces the 621st CRW's identity, and establishes a lasting tradition tied to the mission.
Contingency Response forces operate in dynamic and austere environments, enabling rapid global mobility and providing critical humanitarian assistance in response to crises around the world. These often unseen contributions are essential to mission success and the timely projection of airpower.
The 621st Contingency Response Wing traces its roots to the 621st Air Mobility Operations Group, established on 24 June 1994, and later redesignated as the 621st CRW on 1 March 2005. Since then, Devil Raiders have operated at the forefront of expeditionary mobility and humanitarian operations worldwide.
Order of the Raider exists to recognize those contributions, connect today's Airmen with the Wing's legacy, and reinforce the culture of excellence required to execute the mission.
Keynote Speaker
Brig. Gen. Douglas (Doug) D. Jackson is the Chief of U.S. Transportation Command’s Global Operations Center. USTRANSCOM is a functional combatant command with responsibilities to provide full-spectrum, global mobility solutions and related enabling capabilities across air, land and sea for the Department of Defense. The Global Operations Center is the operational synchronization element that conducts crisis planning for joint mobility forces supporting combatant commands, while exercising control of the Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise. Brig. Gen. Jackson was a distinguished graduate of U.S. Air Force ROTC at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. He commanded at the squadron, group and two times at the wing level. His staff assignments include the Joint Staff, Headquarters Air Force, Air Mobility Command and the 603d Air Operations Center. Brig. Gen. Jackson is a command pilot with more than 4,400 flight hours in mobility and trainer aircraft, including over 500 combat hours in support of operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen and Somalia. Prior to his current assignment, he was AMC’s Director of Operations, Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration.
